I have been an avid rail photographer, traveler and history buff for many years.  My favorite classic era railroad was the Atchison, Topeka & Santa Fe Railway (the "Santa Fe" or "AT&SF") and many of my photographs are of trains along the historic Santa Fe rails.  The AT&SF merged with the Burlington Northern in 1995 and the BNSF remains a favorite with me.  My travels on Amtrak have taken me through many parts of the United States and I have traveled by rail in Canada, Europe and the United Kingdom as well.  I have ridden the Cumbres & Toltec Scenic Railway tourist train several times.  Its narrow gauge route meanders between southern Colorado and northern New Mexico and my photos taken there provide more of a collective sense of the railroad and can be found in another album on this site.
